my first mini scrap book

hello, ok, for some reason not all the photos came out, and i'm tried of fighting with it. a friend of mine sent me some wonderful pictures of her new baby. i must say, she is too cute! i made copies of the pictures, and then made her a mini album. i made the album from recyled mailers. on the top picture in the corner, i stamped a flower, it didn't come out as well as i would have liked, so i placed another flower on top, it gives it a little dimension. i wish the other pages would have come out. ah well, maybe another day. enjoy! lisa

benfits of shea butter

starting today, every monday i will be showcasing different products or the different types of ingredients they contain. today is all about the benfits of shea butter. shea butter is an effective moisturizer because it contains so many fatty acids, which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity. it contains vitamins A,E, and F and has demonstrated both anitimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properites.  shea butter easily penetrates the skin, allowing the skin to breathe and doesn't clog pores.  shea butter can be found in my skin soothing lotion and in my body butter, which is pictured. also please join the alchemy factory on facebook to learn about specials! enjoy!  lisa

stamps and silver leaf

hello, how's life been treating you? good i hope. i wanted to play around with silver leafing. i stamped the image in black ink then outlined with glue then placed silver leafing on top. i realize you could get the same look from a silver pen, but i like texture. i understand you really can't tell in the picture, but it's raised in real life. i was hard to take a picture, with the reflection on the leafing. enjoy!  lisa

easy bath salts

hello, sorry there is no picture (i know bad blogger, bad blogger). here is a simple recipe for a wonderful soak in the tub and it all can be found in your pantry. take one cup epsom salt, one cup sea salt (if you don't have sea salt, that ok, just make it 2 cups epsom salt), one cup oats (not the quick cook kind).  grind the oats in your food processor unitl it's a fine powder. then mix all together, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil.  oatmeal is great for dry skin.  then place in a baggie and put a few handfuls each time you take a bath! enjoy, lisa

polymer clay buttons

hello, i made these buttons from scrap polymer clay from a previous project that i had blended different clays. since i can't seem to throw anything away and didn't have enough for my original project i made buttons. i cut a small square from my clay cutters for the multi-color, then used the next size up for the blue. i scored each piece before putting them together. (in case you don't know to score clay, you take and draw lines on the parts that are to go together, then put the parts that you made the lines on together.) then just place to holes to make your buttons and bake. very easy, can be used for scrapbooking, cards, or clothes! lisa

happy monday

hello, i know there is some (or a lot, depending on how you look at it :)) imperfection's in this, but i wanted to show that if you have a favorite stamp there is other ways to showcase it. i stamped the frog with white ink and then embroidered it. the imperfections come out in the picture, but it doesn't look to bad in person. enjoy!  lisa
