day 2

hello and welcome back to day 2 of the 12 days, go here for the info. today is a smeared ink day! now, if you saw thursday's post, (if not scroll down), then you can see i'm trying to bulid a grumpie christmas.  i also plan to make one more thing to match my little set here. this wreath made me realize my mom was right in saying think before you do something. i started doing this one way, so i did holes on all the sides, but then realized that wouldn't work, so i made a few more and did the holes on top and bottom. so you may be asking how i made the grumpies look so awesome. well i did the velum, alcohol inks thing. i used red and green inks and staz-on to stamp the grumpies. it looked pretty good, but when i took the picture, it looked plain, so i cut up a green pick thing and wrapped each one in between. i'm hoping to take an outside picture tomorrow so you can see how pretty it is! now go to my sidebar and get to hoping! enjoy! lisa

One thing I love about making art is the experimentation. You think something will work one way, but then you find something better, or new. This is a great example of that! You are learning while you create, and that in and of itself, is beautiful! Great job, and a clever idea! Gotta love a Grumpie Christmas!!!

A Grumpie Christmas, I love it! I'm going to have to give the alcohol inks thing a try, love how yours turned out. I really like your ornament from yesterday too, both great ideas.

I think it is great. I just clicked for the larger picture and it is AMAZING! What fun, a Grumpie Christmas! Way better than the 'grumpie' we have at our house for Christmas :)

Love this wreath. Looks like you're having a very "grumpie" Christmas ;). A great complement to the ornament and such fun. TFS, Paula
