Terrarium!!!!!

 hello and welcome! i'm falling in love with terrariums. why? cause i can forget about them and they will survive. pretty, delicate plants come to die at my house. moss and sulcants survive very well! remember the bottle from here, well i have a bunch of them, and a few of the labels would not come off. they were just begging to be made into a terrarium! the moss came from this great etsy seller.

i love old ball and mason jars, so why not turn one into a plant home! (doesn't the green look awesome with the blue rocks!)

this lovely one is in an old mason jar! now that i have you all happy about terrariums here is some info on how you can make your own! and you will want to make more and more and more! next week (hopefully i'll remember) i'll show y'all the super awesome vintage terrarium i got at an estate sale! enjoy! lisa

A quilt in progress

 hello and welcome to let's us wednesday! i have a work in progress today, when it's finished it will be about 2 months late. i'm making this for my great-niece's 1st birthday, which was on dec 31st. i picked this great selection of moda fabrics

 i stole the pattern idea from here (she's has great, great stuff over there!) this is super easy to make (or at least so far it is) i picked 9 different fabrics and sewed them into a nine block pattern. i bought 2 fat quarters of each fabric, the store i went to was having a sale on fat quarters so i didn't buy a 1/2 yard. i'm pretty sure they will be enough for a twin size quilt.

after you get your nine block sewed up, cut them into 4 even squares, mine came out to 7 by 7. i'm going to need a total of 88 7 by 7 squares and 22 9 blocks. there will be a 5.5in border across and 4.5in border down (or at least that is how my math came out, i hate math). hopefully it will be finished within a couple of weeks! enjoy! lisa

last day of the smeared and smudged blog hop

hello and welcome to the last day of the hop. it's been fun! thank you for all the wonderful comments! i did have another piece to go with the tag, but the paint isn't dry (or at least at the time i'm posting this) i'm making a pendant and this is the tag that will go with it. the title of the tag is 'i'll love you till death do us part'. i used the gun shot stamp from smeared ink set chicks dig guns. the images are from lotteria cards. i painted the background with red aylric paint. maybe, some time today i'll be able to post the pendant. enjoy and get to hopping! lisa

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop, with Smeared and Smudged!

 hello and welcome! (hello new follower! thank you!) welcome back to the smeared and smudged member blog hop! sadly i didn't get to hop yesterday, so i will be hopping later on today. (there are some good sounding garage sales in my town today) i'm offering y'all an altered light switch cover.

 i started by covering it with blue alcohol ink. i then printed out the image from retro cafe art on regular paper, not card stock, i wanted it to be easy to work with. the image is not centered in the middle prefectly because i would have to cut his eyeballs for the screw hole (please don't look closely because they aren't cut out yet)

the image is from stampabilites (or however you spell that) and the glitter is from ms. enjoy and get to hopping! lisa

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop, with Smeared and Smudged!

 hello and welcome to the february member blog hop with smeared and smudged forum! today i have an altered canvas ;) i started doing something different then the way this turned out. i had some lotteria cards cute out to make a cool collage, started glued and placing, then didn't like the way it look, it look way better in my head

 so, i left what i already glued down, took off the rest and painted. i really like how the imprint of the cut out images showed up under the paint, it was super thick, so i didn't think they would show up. i think the heart came out the best!

this looks so plain in the picture, but the texture in real life comes across great! i can't remember where the stamped image came from, but the camoes are from retro cafe art. i made up a little story about how they were lovers in a past life (image under the paint) but he cheated on her with the other guy in the corner, so she cut out his heart. enjoy! and get to hopping! lisa
