my son had a make a model of the solar system for school. so out came the paper mache, the whole time i was wanting to bust out my fabric and try to do paper mache with fabric. well, i was a good parent and waited until the project was done before i tried it. i started it on a balloon, then moved it to a bowl so it would sit flat. i think it would have worked better with fabric glue, but i used good ole elmer's glue. lisa

halloween necklace
ok so i messed with the exposure of this picture, but i couldn't make any picutres work. remember the ice cube trays from the first post, well i wanted to make a resin skull from them. well, my resin was in the back of the closet, since i haven't used it in years, and so it was unusable. i still had it in my head to make a skull with glitter on it and turn it into a necklace. first i tried translucent polymer clay, well that wouldn't come out of the mold clean enough, so out came the hot glue, yes this is hot glue. i put a little glitter in the mold then pressed the hot glue down in it. i used a low temp gun, i think a high temp would have been easier, both i only have a low temp. i wanted to drill a hole down the middle, but it was hard to control the drill in the glue, so out came the wooden disk. let me know what you think, lisa

peachy keen stamp challenge
ok, so i made this card for a friend of mine who is having a baby. well, when i was reading peachy keen stamps blog, i saw this challenge: make a card, use the colors pink and brown as the main color scheme, use a stamped image (preferably peachy keen stamp - but not required), well unfortunately i don't have a peachy keen stamp, yet, so i has happy to see not required, incorporate a piece of ribbon, use some type of glitter. i thought this was the coolest thing ever, here they are asking for a card like the one i just made!! i could always use a 25.00 dollar gift certificate and i love their stamps! unfortunately i can't remember where the stamps came from, they are unmounted, and i'm not real organized to keep track. let me know what you think, lisa

halloween card
i tried to make the cat look like it was shadowed or jumping. i stamped on the sliver and it came out real light, so i stamped on white paper, then cut the kitty out. then glued it slightly off, to give it the shadowed look. i swear martha makes the best glitter. enjoy, let me know which one you liked the best, or if you didn't like any of them, let me know why. lisa

i'm going to be honest with you
halloween card
ok, i admit i'm not the best card maker in the world, but i'm working on it and y'all get to watch my progess :). well for the next three posts i'm going to make 3 different cards with the same basic materials. i just want to show that you don't have to have alot of materials to get different results. don't get me wrong, i love buying stamps, paper, stickers, bling, etc, etc. sometimes though you can't justify to your significant other that you need that stamp when he/she already knows how many you have. now there isn't major differences in the cards, but they are different from one another but i liked them and i hope you will too.

painted pumpkin
my oldest son had to decorate a pumpkin for school, but he couldn't carve it. my wonderful husband made these great bat wings, along with the eyes and teeth. sadly, he didn't win. oh well, mike and i were more disapointed then mikey was. i really wishing that i had made a copy of the wings so i could have made a templete (or at least tried to make a templete) for you guys. hopefully it will be in good condition when we get it back from school, so i can try and do it. i'm trying to win some great blog candy from peachy keen stamps. they have super cute, super sweet stamps over there. head to www.peachykeenstamps.com and check them out, then head on over to www.peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com to try and win some blog candy. i already know what i want to order, the cute elf and the faces stamps.

halloween wreath
one day we needed somethings for a school project for my oldest. well, i went into the dollar tree and fell back in love. i hadn't been in awhile and i forgot what awesome stuff they have, so i bought and bought and even went back the same day and bought some more. well if you remember from my first post, the moss on the wreath is left over from that (the moss goes a long way) the skeletons came in a pack of 6, i believe, and the crow was by himself, also were a dollar each. the crow did have feet but i cut them off, poor guy. the skull in the middle of the ribbon is just salt dough, from the first post. now the wreath i did have to go to hobby lobby and pick up, but the ribbon i had on hand, which i'm pretty sure came from hobby lobby. my oldest says that it is creepy and he doesn't like it. but my husband and i like so it stays, (i know mean parents, but it is put up kinda-of high, sooo). by the way, it doesn't normally rest on our floor lamp, that was just for picture purposes only. if you like there is one available on my etsy page. lisa

another simple scrapbooking embellishment
ok so i was being lazy, i usually cut the frog out but kids and lazness got in the way. what i did
here is stamped on fabric. why fabric, you may be asking? well if you want a different texture for a card or scrapbook page, this is to remind you to remember fabric. to keep the fabric from fraying i ironed on heat-bond no sew inbetween two pieces, then stamped my little frog. i used a colored pencil on the body and stickles for the eyes. i have even made cute little earing from this same stamp and put an eyelet in the fabric and put on an earring hook. i do believe i have some on my etsy page. lisa

a stolen idea
ok, so here is the stolen idea from http://www.moresmearedink.blogspot.com/
she stamped into hot glue to make this super cute napkin rings, i justed wanted to try it, so here it is. the only difference is i mixed the pearl-ex with modge-podge and painted it on. what you do is put a layer of hot glue on wax paper, and then stamp into it. wait until the hot glue cools then pick the stamp up. you could even layer paint and then sandpaper the paint, for different looks. oh, i'm exicted! i'm unsure what i'm going to do with it, but this is a great idea for scrapbooking embellishments or card embellishments when you want some texture. i think i might make this into a sticker for my son. i can't wait to use this!!!!

flower embellishments
hello, these wonderful flower embellishments are easy to make and can be used for so many things. all you need is ribbon, glue and something for the center, i have used buttons in this picture, and jewels on others. by the way, if you don't feel like making these then click on my etsy page, they are some available there. cut about 4 pieces of ribbon about 3 1/2
inches long, then fold in half to find the center. then dab alittle glue on one end and fold and pressure in the center, do the same for the other end. sorry about the picture, but that is what you should have when finished. do this for the others, then place them on top of each other, placing a small dab of glue on each to hold into place, when finish, place a button or jewel in the center. see, super easy to make, now you have a scrapbook embellishment, card embellishment, or whatever tickles your fancy.

welcome
hello and welcome, with this blog i will be showing different crafting projects, how to's and sometimes reviewing different poducts. hope you will enjoy and be able to learn alittle too. you will have to forgive my pictures, for the time being they will be just be a tad bit crappy. once i start to get followers i might even have a give away now and again. i most warn you ahead of time, they will be mostly things i have made. well to get started, this being october 1, lets start off with a halloween project. 99% of this project is all from dollar tree yeah!
the dollar tree is selling these as "ice trays", ha, what little do they know. they can be used for salt dough forms, bath salt forms, whatever your little heart desires. and the best part is THERE ONLY ONE DOLLAR!!!!! then i found a bag of moss for a dollar, then round foamy things 2 for a dollar. the tombstone and pumkins are made from salt dough, which is super easy to make: 1 cup salt, 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup water and mix. after you have made whatever, then you need to put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds at a time, until hard, and watch out it will be hot. to give the tombstone a weathered look i watered down black paint and rubbed it all over. i hot glued everthing to the foamy thing and there you have a cute halloween center piece. oh yeah, i forgot, the birds are made from polymer clay. well let me know what you think of my first post, have a great day. lisa, by the way this is available in my etsy shop, if you don't feel like making it.
